A 2023 Late 1962 Stratocaster Relic 3-Color Sunburst has arrived!

The body is crafted from two-piece alder and features the classic 3-Color Sunburst finish. Thanks to the Custom Shop’s signature Relic finish, it exudes the character of a guitar that’s been played for years, allowing you to fully appreciate the authentic vibe of a late-’62 model.

The neck is made of lift-thorn maple, and the fingerboard features AAA-grade round-laminated rosewood. This faithfully reproduces the round-laminated rosewood fingerboard characteristic of late 1962 models, contributing significantly not only to the guitar’s appearance but also to its sound.

The neck shape is the easy-to-grip “60-Style Oval ‘C’,” with a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and 6105 Narrow Tall frets, ensuring smooth bending and excellent playability while maintaining a vintage style.

The guitar is equipped with a Fender Custom Shop Hand-Wound 60/63 Strat set. Hand-wound pickups are used for the neck, middle, and bridge positions, and when combined with Vintage Modified Wiring #2, they deliver rich expressiveness.

The sound is characterized by the crisp, well-defined attack typical of a rosewood fingerboard, allowing you to enjoy a lustrous, well-defined Stratocaster tone in clean settings. It also offers excellent separation when playing chords, maintaining a solid tonal image not only for cutting and arpeggios but also when playing with overdrive.

The hardware features a Custom Shop Vintage Strat Tremolo and Vintage Fender Logo Tuners, faithfully replicating the ’62 style. The design offers a vintage feel while delivering excellent practicality.

Weighing approximately 3.55 kg, it falls within the well-balanced weight range for a Stratocaster, achieving a high level of balance between sound, playability, and maneuverability. The attractive combination of an AAA round-laminated rosewood fingerboard, a lift-thorn maple neck, and hand-wound 60/63 pickups results in a highly refined Custom Shop guitar that delivers the crisp response and rich expressiveness characteristic of a vintage Strat.
