USED ATELIER Z / Custom Made J Walnut [05]

A custom model from the 1990s by Atelier Z, a Japanese bass brand that has earned a solid following. At a time when there were still very few options for 5-string basses, this active 5-string JB was crafted as a pioneering instrument.

Featuring a Schaller 3-D5 bridge (17-string spacing)—which boasted an overwhelming market share in the early 1990s—and a Bartolini NTMB, which had already become a staple onboard preamp, this model embodies the exemplary specifications of its era.The body is made of walnut, and the fingerboard is phenolic (another hallmark of the early ’90s). The sound derived from the NTMB and walnut—with its lower treble and stronger mids—is quite different from the typical Atelier Z sound many people imagine, resulting in a very gritty, powerful tone.
While there is some rust on the metal plating due to the passage of time, there is very little damage to the wood, and it appears the guitar hasn’t been played for very long.
Of course, it has been cleaned and adjusted, so it should play comfortably.

It comes with a gig case featuring the LAKLAND logo.
