A 1978 Gibson L-5 CES has just arrived!!

Serial No.: 72558136; this is a 1978 model.

The L-5 was originally designed by Lloyd Loar and released in 1922 as an acoustic archtop guitar. It has continued to evolve with changes to its specifications over the years, and the electric version has been favored by many famous guitarists, led by jazz guitar virtuoso Wes Montgomery.

The body is constructed entirely of solid wood, with a spruce top and maple sides and back. Featuring multi-binding, an ebony fingerboard, block inlays, and gold hardware, this guitar boasts a truly luxurious appearance at first glance.

The pickups are stamped, numbered PAFs. The pots have been replaced with 1966-era models. The pickup rings have also been replaced, and there are additional mounting screw holes on the body.

The tuning machines have been replaced once, and the screw holes have been filled. The top of the body had a crack, which has been repaired. There are also several repaired holes resulting from the relocation of the strap pins.

Other modifications include replacement of the nut, frets, knobs, bridge, jack plate, and pickguard.

Although it features replacement parts and shows signs of use, playability is excellent. Please consider this opportunity.
