We’ve just received a beautiful pre-owned ’62 Jazz Bass crafted by “Jason Smith,” who has worked with numerous renowned artists!!

Jason Smith is a veteran luthier whose father was Dan Smith, a legendary member of Fender’s R&D staff.
This model features a 3-tone sunburst base with a fiesta red topcoat, giving it a distinctive aged, vintage-like look.
The matching headstock is another standout feature.

The body is made of “2-Piece Alder” with a “Lacquer” finish, while the neck is “Rift-Sawn Maple” with a “Nitrocellulose Lacquer” finish.
The fingerboard is “Flat-Laminated Rosewood,” the neck shape is “60 J-Bass U,” and the fingerboard radius is “7.25” Radius.” It features 20 frets of the “Vintage UPGRADE/45085” type.
As you’d expect from a Jason Smith custom build, the tone and response are clearly distinct from anything else.

It is equipped with a “Hand-Wound Vintage J-Bass” pickup.
The deep bass tones reminiscent of a genuine vintage instrument and piano-like harmonics create a one-of-a-kind sound that can only be experienced with this instrument.

It faithfully reproduces the signs of aging—such as relic stains, fine scratches, dents, weather checking, paint chips, cloudiness, and the patina on the parts—while maintaining the elegance typical of a matching headstock, yet still possessing its own distinct character.

This is a 2025 model.
Although it is a used instrument, it is in excellent cosmetic condition with no visible damage that appears to have been acquired after purchase.
There are no issues with the truss rod or the neck condition.
This is a guitar we can confidently recommend even to customers considering a brand-new instrument.

It comes complete with all accessories, including the fence, cover, and certificate of authenticity.
