USED Fender Custom Shop / Master Build Series 1957 Stratocaster NOS by Paul Waller with Abigail Pickup, 2013 [05]

A 2013 Fender Custom Shop Master Build Series 1957 Stratocaster has arrived!!

The luthier is Paul Waller, who joined Fender in 2003. He studied under many Master Builders, including the renowned archtop guitar craftsman Bob Benedetto, and was promoted to Master Builder—the company’s highest rank—in 2010.
He is now a pivotal figure within the Master Builder team.

The guitar we’ve received is a 1957-style Stratocaster built in 2013.
It was crafted relatively soon after his promotion to Master Builder. The finish is applied quite thinly, revealing the brown-toned base color beneath the black trim in key areas, giving it a unique and beautiful appearance.

It is also equipped with hand-wound FAT 50S pickups by Abigail Ybarra.
The date “11-14-12” is inscribed on them, confirming that they were made in November 2012 for a guitar built in 2013.
Ms. Ybarra retired in 2013, making these pickups particularly valuable as they were produced during the final phase of her career before her retirement.

There are signs that the previous owner touched up the clear coat at the 12th fret on the 6th string side.
While the string guide on the headstock may have been replaced, the frets, nut, and electronic components—including the pickups—are original, and there are no modifications that significantly affect the guitar’s value.

The body, finished with NOS parts, has no scratches from use that significantly detract from its appearance; rather, the authentic relic patina resulting from its use gives it a charming look.

Included are the genuine tweed hard case, two Owner’s Manuals, a tremolo arm, bridge cover, springs, strap, cable, cleaning cloth, Fender Custom Shop CUSTOM CARE card, stickers, and the “Fender Lacquer Finishes: Precautions and Care” card (in English).
