This is an early Music Man StingRay made in 1979, pre-earnie ball, with coil tap expansion mod.

The StingRay 4-string model is synonymous with active bass. All lacquer paint, non-contoured ash body, top jack with 2-band EQ without center click, Neck Date: Apr 06 1979, PotDate: R1377839x1/R1377841x2, bridge is back-through with mute, 3-point joint. Three point joint, logo pegs, and original PU of the time.

The flagship model of the Music Man lineup boasts a wide variety of sound variations with its 2-band EQ, making it an easy-to-use instrument with a fat, deep core sound that can be used not only for slapping techniques.

A mini SW has been added to allow coil tapping, the strap pins have been changed to shear type (no hardware on the strap side), the nut has been replaced/refretted, and the blackened fingerboard side has been painted over. The stately looks show signs of use (weather cracks, PU flexing, slips and play marks, picking marks, buckle marks, mute sponge deterioration, fogging/bitz/rust on metal parts and screws, and other exterior damage).

The fret board has been set up (cleaning, string replacement, rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, PG screw hole repair, and wire breakage correction) upon arrival, the fret board is high enough to play, and the truss rod is adjustable to ±60°.

アクティブ・ベースの代名詞とも言えるStingRay・4弦モデル。オールラッカー塗装、コンター加工のないアッシュ・ボディ、トップジャックでセンタークリックのない2バンドEQ、Neck Date:Apr 06 1979、PotDate：R1377839ｘ1/R1377841ｘ2、ブリッジは裏通し仕様でミュート付き、3点留めジョイント、ロゴ入りペグ、PUも当時のオリジナルを搭載しています。

芯のある野太いサウンドはスラップ奏法のみならず、2バンドEQによる多彩なサウンドバリエーションを誇るミュージックマンのフラッグシップ・モデル、使い勝手の良い一本です。

ミニSWを増設しコイルタップ可能、ストラップピンをシャーラータイプに変更(ストラップ側金具なし)ナット交換/リフレットされ、指板サイドの黒ずみは上から塗装されています。風格あるルックスの使用感(ウェザークラック、PUたわみ、スレや弾きスジ、ピッキング痕、バックル痕、ミュートスポンジ劣化、金属パーツやネジ類の曇り・ビッツ・サビ、等々の外観ダメージ)が見られます。

入荷時にセットアップ(クリーニング・弦交換・ロッド調整・オクターブ調整・弦高調整・PGネジ穴補修・断線修正)済み、フレット山は演奏に問題ない高さがあり、トラスロッドは締める方向・緩める方向調整可能で±60°まで動作確認済みにて問題ない状態です。
