There are many legendary models among the drive pedals that Char has used over the years.
Among them, we thoroughly analyzed the sounds of several units, including Char’s own Klon CENTAUR—which he particularly favored and used for many years—and a unit owned by VEMURAM that is believed to have exceptional sound quality.
Furthermore, since Char created that signature drive sound not just with the drive pedal alone, but by combining it with the boost sounds of units like the Roland CE-1 and Watkins Copicat, we began development with the goal of creating a new drive sound that reflects these nuances as well.
Over the course of more than a year of development, Char himself used prototype units on stage countless times, and through repeated design changes and tuning based on his feedback, the pedal evolved into the new medium-gain drive sound we were aiming for.
