A 2012 MUSIC MAN LUKE II in Luke Blue has arrived!
This signature model was developed jointly by TOTO guitarist Steve Lukather and MUSIC MAN. It is a U.S.-made model featuring a compact, body-hugging alder body paired with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard.
The neck features a slim soft V-shape with a nut width of approximately 41.3 mm. With a smooth oil-and-wax finish and a 5-bolt sculpted joint that provides easy access to the higher frets, it offers excellent playability suited for technical playing.
The pickup configuration is an active HSS setup, featuring EMG SLV pickups in the front and middle positions and an EMG 85 in the bridge position. It covers a wide range of tones, from clean sounds with low noise and consistent articulation to smooth lead tones with rich mid-to-low-end depth. Equipped with a Music Man floating tremolo and locking tuners, it also offers practical functionality.
This particular instrument has undergone fingerboard correction and refretting as part of a truss rod replacement. When the fingerboard was removed, a small section of the maple neck peeled away slightly; as a result, cosmetic repairs using putty were applied near the joint between the fingerboard and the neck. Additionally, there is paint chipping at the body end caused by an impact mark, and other signs of wear—such as scratches and dents—are visible on various parts of the body. However, the guitar has been cleaned and set up, and there are no issues with its current playability.
