A 1970 Mustang in ideal "player's condition"!

We’ve just received a 1970 Mustang with the rugged look of a battle-hardened veteran.
The color is Competition Red, featuring a racing stripe design.
This type of matching head is exclusive to models built between 1969 and 1970.
Additionally, the CBS logo decal features white lettering and was specifically created for Competition Mustangs with matching heads.
Based on the wood grain visible in the neck pocket, the body material is believed to be alder.
The body features contouring, such as an elbow cutout.
When it comes to body wood, it seems many Mustang players prefer the era when Fender used its standard body materials—alder and basswood—rather than the periods when poplar or mahogany were used.
Perhaps this is because it allows them to more easily experience the familiar Fender sound.

Overall Condition
This instrument is now in its 56th year since manufacture.
Its exterior condition has reached the realm of a vintage guitar with a battle-hardened, seasoned look.
There are signs that the tuning pegs were once replaced with Kluson-type pegs (there are mounting holes in the wood), but the original F-key pegs are currently mounted. (Although the torque varies due to age-related wear, the guitar can still be tuned.)
The frets have been refretted to a medium-jumbo size, and the nut has been replaced with an unbleached cowbone nut, making it well-suited for modern playing styles.
Additionally, while some control components have been replaced, they are functioning properly.
Other than that—including the pickups, capacitors, dynamic vibrato, Mustang bridge and tremolo arm, and the tall nylon spacer string guide—this instrument has no outlandish modifications and retains many of its original parts, with the exception of wear-and-tear components.
The rugged charm of a guitar that has remained in active use for so many years might make you want to call it a “battle-hardened hero” or a “veteran warrior.”
