USED YAMAHA / SG-5A 1968 Coral Red [12]

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1968 SG-5A.
The SG-5A was one of Yamaha's early models, which started manufacturing and selling electric guitars in 1966.

The body shape, pegs, bridge/tremolo unit, pickups, and other hardware were all designed by Yamaha.

The neck is 41mm wide for easy gripping, the bridge has a nylon roller nut for smooth arming, the front pickup is slant-mounted, and the rear pickup has a knob to adjust the blend of the bridge-side coils.

This guitar was reissued in 2000 with the SGV500 and SGV700 models, but this is a rare example that embodies the texture, atmosphere, and playing feel of the early days of Japanese-made electric guitars.
There are some minor scratches and dents scattered throughout the body, and there is a scratch on the underside of the tailpiece.
The pickguard around the jack is cracked, but this does not hinder its use.
The pickguard and pickup covers are discolored due to age-related deterioration.
Overall, there is a sense of use, but considering the year of manufacture, there is little damage.
The truss rod is tight and the frets are low, but the neck is in good condition, so there are no problems with playability.
The guitar has been maintained and cleaned at our repair center.
The arm is included, but it is believed to be for a Fender Jaguar/Jazzmaster.
