The Hummingbird, introduced in 1960, was an instant hit, captivating rock 'n' rollers with its innovative and avant-garde design. In response to this, the Dove was introduced in 1962 as a higher-end model, but sales were slow, so the Hummingbird, which used the maple body of the Dove, was introduced in 1963. This rare model is still rarely seen in the market today, and was reissued in 1994 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Gibson's founding. The flamed maple of the body is eye-catching and very beautiful, and the relatively thin neck shape is easy to grip and play. The jack-jawed sound goes well with cutting, etc., and it shows horsepower on hard strokes, making it very comfortable to play. The low string height also makes it a good choice for lead playing. The maple body is full of flavor, making this a commemorative model.
The condition of the guitar shows overall signs of use, with weather checks, scratches from use, and bumps on the wood near the neck joint on the 6th string side and on the side of the body due to paint cracks. There is also a broken neck that has been fixed and is now firmly fixed, so there are no problems with playing. Although this is a special case, it can still be used for many years to come.
