A quintessential model among Gibson’s non-standard guitars that still reigns supreme in the current lineup.
Like the Flying V, the Explorer has been a flagship model in Gibson’s line of unconventional guitars since its release in 1958 and remains part of the lineup today.

Featuring a six-string tuner headstock—a rarity for Gibson—and an asymmetrical, radical body shape, it offers excellent playability in the higher frets. The protruding body wing on the 6th string side helps maintain a stable picking form, making it widely popular among metal guitarists since the 1980s.

It features a mahogany body with a set-neck construction featuring a mahogany neck and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. It is equipped with high-power BurstBucker 2 and 3 pickups, a Nashville-tuned O-matic bridge, and a 2-volume/1-tone control setup with a 3-way toggle switch.
Overall, there are scratches, small dents, stand marks around the headstock, and paint peeling at the tip.
The frets have at least 70% of their original depth remaining, the neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is adjustable.
