クリアのアクリルシェルによる存在感のあるルックス。やはりドラマー憧れのモデル、VISTALITEです。
近年では各社からアクリル素材を使用したモデルが発売されています。
アクリル素材は気候の影響を受けにくく、中音域が強調されたサウンドはロックとの相性が良く重宝されています。
そんなアクリルスネアの中でも外せないのが、このVISTALITEシリーズ。しかも70年代製となると、まさに音楽シーンの過渡期を支えたモデルです。
数多くの名曲を支えたバックビートから生み出されるスネアサウンドは、今なお多くのドラマーを魅了しています。
シリアルより 1970年代中期と想定されます。
ミュートは外されております。フープは 上下ともオリジナルと想定される1.6mm。
ややトップフープサイドより 歪みが見られる部分もございますが 致命的な歪みは見られません。ビスタライトにありがちな経年劣化なのですが エッジ部分がデコボコとする傾向がございます。こちらの個体も ボトムの部分が 劣化が始まっておりますが チューニングに致命的な欠けや凹みは見られません。
勿論 演奏にお使いいただいても しっかりとあのアクロライトのサウンドは健在です。

We've received a used LUDWIG NO.2201 VISTALITE CLEAR 14x5-inch drum!
Its clear acrylic shell gives it a striking look. It’s the VISTALITE—truly a model every drummer dreams of.
In recent years, various manufacturers have released models made from acrylic.
Acrylic is resistant to weather conditions, and its sound—with its emphasized midrange—is well-suited for rock music and highly valued.
Among these acrylic snares, the VISTALITE series is an absolute must-have. And when it comes to models from the ’70s, this is the very model that supported the music scene during a period of transition.
The snare sound produced by the backbeat that underpinned countless classic songs continues to captivate many drummers to this day.
Based on the serial number, it is believed to date from the mid-1970s.
The mute has been removed. Both the top and bottom hoops are 1.6 mm thick and are believed to be original.
There are some areas of slight warping, particularly on the top hoop side, but no critical warping is visible. This is typical aging for VISTALITE snares, which tend to develop uneven edges over time. On this particular snare, the bottom hoop is also beginning to show signs of wear, but there are no chips or dents severe enough to affect tuning.
Of course, even when used for performance, that signature Acrolite sound is still very much alive.

Although it shows signs of use, age-related wear, and some scratches, it is still fully functional.
