Mike Stern is a very talented guitarist in the contemporary jazz guitar world. His music and playing style, which boldly fuses the essence of jazz, funk, blues, and hard rock, have evolved along with this guitar that captures the imagination of the player.
Sensitive pickups and body faithfully convey the player's expression, from the subtle nuances of picking to the attack of hard chord cutting.
Yamaha's unique I.R.A. treatment has also improved the body's sound.
The Yamaha Music Craft's outstanding woodworking techniques and processing precision have further evolved this beloved guitar that has been used as the main guitar since 1997.

Pickups
The combination of two Seymour Duncan pickups, "59" (front) and "Hot Rails" (rear), boasts a rich sound variation from clean tone to warm & mild to distortion.

Body & Neck
The single-cutaway, two-piece light ash body and one-piece maple neck are designed to fit the player's body, and the excellent body balance allows the player to play for long hours without feeling stressed.
