Founded in 2002, Sugi continues to draw on the extensive experience and knowledge in instrument making that luthier Sugimoto has cultivated over more than 40 years.
This is the passive 5-string version of Sugi’s flagship model, the NB5 (Night Breeze).
The first thing that catches the eye on this instrument is its ash back and poplar burl top.
It features a 5-piece Aquatimer neck and a jet-black ebony fingerboard, which is harder than rosewood.
Equipped with Sugi’s original soapbar pickups, the NB series offers scale lengths ranging from 33 to 35 inches; this model features a 35-inch super-long scale.

There are numerous small dents and dents with indentations across the entire body, and the back of the body has dents and scratches caused by a buckle.
The hardware shows some tarnish and fine rust spots, and there are overall scratches and small dents.
