AZ Oval C S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple Neck
The fingerboard and neck are crafted from S-TECH-treated maple.
S-TECH is a nitrogen-heating treatment technology for wood developed in Miyagi Prefecture, and this is the first time it has been used for guitar wood worldwide.
S-TECH Wood features dimensional stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resilience to temperature changes, and has been patented in Japan for these characteristics.
After numerous prototypes and tests, we concluded that a neck thickness of 20.5 x 22.5 mm (at the 1st and 12th frets) is optimal.
In addition, we have adopted an oil finish that gives the neck the texture of a well-played guitar.

S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple Fretboard
Designed to prevent muffled tones even during wide-range bending and to minimize stress on the fingers and hands during chord playing, this 305mmR fretboard was developed through repeated trial and error, incorporating multiple challenges—such as the combination with the neck—into several prototypes.

Super All Access Neck Joint
The "Super All Access" neck joint achieves exceptional playability by featuring an 8mm stepped cut from the body’s back and a spherical finish at the neck joint.
The cutaway on the bass string side is designed to be shallow, and by maximizing the contact area between the body and the neck, it achieves both excellent sustain and resonance while maintaining high playability.

Luminlay Side Dot Inlays
Featuring 3.0mm-diameter phosphorescent dot position markers that offer excellent visibility, these inlays are designed to handle rapidly changing performance environments caused by stage lighting.
You’ll never lose sight of the notes you want to play, even on a dark stage.

Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups
We acquired more than dozens of different pickups and measured the frequency characteristics of all of them.
From these, we identified the specifications and sound profile considered optimal for the AZ, and through a collaboration with Seymour Duncan—a pickup brand synonymous with a long history and a commitment to innovation—we created these AZ-exclusive pickups.
We designed these pickups with a focus on picking responsiveness and reproducibility, keeping the output slightly low so that the clarity of the original sound remains even when distorted.
From treble to bass, and from the sound of the 1st string to the 6th, we prioritized overall balance and pursued excellent compatibility with effects.
All pickups feature Alnico-5 magnets.

dyna-MIX 10 switching system w/Alter switch
With a single flip of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, ensuring a wide range of sound variations.
This switching system is ideal for today’s guitarists who must handle multiple roles with limited gear.

Gotoh T1802 Tremolo Bridge
This bridge is a reimagined version of the GOTOH 510 bridge—widely regarded by many players and guitar brands as the definitive tremolo bridge—developed through a collaboration between Ibanez and GOTOH.
It features hard-machined titanium saddles and a machined steel inertia block that achieve both excellent attack and a solid, fat sound, and is also characterized by its sustained high frequencies.
The 10.5mm narrow-spacing design was developed to provide the ease of cross-string picking demanded by players who frequently use skipping and hybrid picking techniques.
It also features an arm socket compatible with the Ibanez Edge tremolo arm and the Ultra Light Tremolo Arm (carbon fiber/UTA20/sold separately).
The tremolo arm can be attached via a snap-in mechanism without the need to screw it in like conventional arms.
The tremolo arm’s tension can be easily adjusted by rotating the torque cap at the arm mounting point.
Furthermore, it comes standard with a stud lock mechanism that contributes significantly to tuning stability and resonance by securely locking the arm in place with a set screw embedded in the stud. It features a two-point floating system that enables smooth arm movement and arm-up.

An ergonomic body back contour
This is an original body shape designed with a contemporary aesthetic in mind.
The slim body contour and generous elbow contour create a sense of unity between the player and the guitar, greatly contributing to improved playability.
Additionally, the deep body waist improves handling when held or on stage, delivering exceptional playability.
The radius of the corners differs between the front and back of the body, creating an ergonomic design that provides an immediate sense of fit the moment you pick up the guitar, whether sitting or standing.

Gotoh Magnum Lock Machine Heads with H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post)
We have adopted Gotoh’s Magnum Lock machine heads, renowned for their tuning stability.
Equipped with the H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post) mechanism, the post height can be adjusted to ensure proper tension for each string.
