The "RS02CB," the first signature model in the REVSTAR series, was developed in collaboration with guitarist Chris Buck.

Chris Buck is a guitarist acclaimed worldwide for his supple touch and soulful expressiveness.
His playing style has been shaped in tandem with the Yamaha Revstar.
The RS02CB is a guitar that faithfully reproduces the custom model he has relied on to craft his sound, from South Wales, UK, to stages around the world.
Co-developed P90-style custom pickup
At the heart of the ‘RS02CB’ lies a special P90-style pickup co-developed with Chris.
“There’s nothing better than the sound of this wonderful P90-style pickup. It’s dynamic and responsive—a true bridge between acoustic resonance and electric sound,” says Chris.
Deliberately tuned to a lower output, this pickup was designed through countless prototypes, from the number of coil windings to the selection of magnets.
This delivers a clear and delicate response at low volumes and a powerful, open tone when driven.
It offers a wide range of natural expressiveness that responds to the player’s touch.
Body chambered based on "Acoustic Design"
Designed based on Yamaha’s proprietary “Acoustic Design” process, which utilizes acoustic analysis, the body features optimal chambering that achieves both a rich resonance and reduced weight.
Furthermore, the use of a carbon-reinforced neck enhances strength and stability. The result is a well-balanced guitar that is ideal for the stage.
Wrap-around bridge
The RS02CB features a wrap-around bridge inherited from Chris’s original custom model.
This structure transmits string vibrations directly to the body, maximizing the instrument’s natural resonance.
It delivers the organic response that Chris relies on during live performances, responding naturally to the player’s touch.
Design Faithfully Reproduced from the Custom Model
From the body color (Honey Gold) to the volume and tone knobs (amber hat knobs) and the fretboard position marks, this model faithfully reproduces Chris Buck’s own custom model.
The signature on the back of the headstock symbolizes Chris’s affection for this guitar, which has traveled the world with him.

“Since I first got my hands on my Custom Shop Revstar in 2020, it has remained at the center of every piece I’ve created and every stage I’ve performed on.It has been with me everywhere I go; it is a partner that has literally traveled the world with me, from Cairo to California. The phrase ‘work of the soul’ may be a bit overused these days. However, this project—on which I have worked closely with Yamaha over the past few years to recreate my guitar—truly embodies the true meaning of those words. Seeing the finished product, I am genuinely thrilled. Even though it is based on my guitar, this is ‘yours.’”

Hailing from Newport, South Wales, UK.
A guitarist acclaimed worldwide for his fluid phrasing, soulful expression, and unique playing style that seamlessly switches between pick and fingerstyle. He is also widely known for his work with the band Cardinal Black.
His story with REVSTAR began in 2015 when he happened to be drawn to a REVSTAR at a local music store and picked it up.
The ‘RS02CB’ was developed based on a custom REVSTAR model he has been using for tours and recordings around the world since 2021.
