The L Series is world-renowned as Yamaha’s flagship acoustic guitar.
Even 40 years after its release, the “L” continues to be cherished by countless artists as a legendary instrument… The reason for its enduring value lies in its consistent delivery of the highest-level sound and playability demanded by each era. It ushered in a new era of acoustic guitars in Japan, has continued to evolve with the times, and has always responded to the needs of its players. That is the L Series.

The LLX36C ARE is an electro-acoustic model from the “L Series 36 Grade” lineup, crafted by master luthiers using techniques and experience honed over many years, featuring a cutaway body and an ART pickup.
The original jumbo body type (LL) is a traditional Yamaha body style characterized by the rich volume produced by its full-size body, a wide dynamic range, a well-balanced tone, and a beautiful, transparent sound.

It features an all-solid construction with Ingleman spruce for the top and Indian rosewood for the sides and back.
The top has undergone Yamaha’s proprietary “A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)” treatment, which produces a rich resonance reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years.
The bracing features the traditional non-scalloped X-bracing; furthermore, the addition of side braces connecting the top and back braces ensures that string vibrations are transmitted more reliably to the back.
The neck features a 5-piece construction of mahogany and rosewood to ensure strength against warping and twisting, and the headstock is reinforced with a rosewood veneer and volute shaping on the back.
The neck profile is 1 mm thinner at the 10th fret than previous models, and the rounded edges of the fingerboard ensure a smooth playing feel that fits comfortably in the hand.
Additionally, the string spacing—widened by 0.3 mm compared to previous models—and the cutaway body shape are key features for players performing melodies and lead phrases.
To maximize the guitar’s natural resonance and the character of the wood, the entire body is finished with a stone-powder-sealed lacquer coating.

A.R.T. 3-Way Pickup System (System 60II)
Piezo pickups tend to react sensitively to the attack of string vibrations, which can cause the sound to distort. This results in a distinctive character that differs from the resonance of an acoustic guitar in terms of attack and sustain. Through extensive research and development aimed at ensuring reliable control over a dynamic sound while maintaining high playability, the A.R.T. pickup system was born.
The electronics feature the A.R.T. 3-Way Pickup System, which has earned the trust of professional guitarists. The contact pickup on the underside of the top serves as the main pickup, and the system also includes two sub-pickups for bass and treble. By adjusting these sub-pickups, you can control everything from the realistic resonance of the body to the sparkling harmonic components.The controller unit is designed to minimize any compromise to the guitar’s natural tone. This pickup system delivers a “Real Acoustic Sound” that remains faithful to the sound of an acoustic guitar.
