The PACS+12 and PACS+12M feature a newly designed body shaped through a scientific approach to acoustic performance, a modern slim C-shaped maple neck, Reflectone pickups co-developed with RUPERT NEVE DESIGNS, and high-quality hardware. They deliver a well-balanced, clear sound and excellent playability.

1. Deeper top and back contours enhance the sense of unity during playing
To ensure a natural fit when holding the guitar, the back contour has been deepened. Additionally, the top contour (where the elbow rests) has been changed from a straight contour to a rounded one, improving the fit and comfort against the arm.

2. Slim C Shape Suited for Modern Playing Styles
Incorporating feedback from players in both Japan and the U.S., we’ve adopted a Slim C-shaped neck that accommodates a wide range of styles, from lead to rhythm. The “Standard Plus” model features a 42.00mm TUSQ nut. The fingerboard side roll-off is precision-machined, with the neck thickness set at 20.00mm at the 1st fret and 22.4mm at the 12th fret.This design ensures stress-free playing of both open chords and power chords, delivering exceptional playability. Additionally, the newly designed neck heel facilitates easy access to the higher frets.

3. The “Reflectone” Hi-Fi Pickup, Developed in Collaboration with Rupert Neve Design
Developed and manufactured in-house by Yamaha in collaboration with Rupert Neve Design—founded by Rupert Neve, the man behind numerous legendary professional audio products—this pickup utilizes Alnico V magnets. By conducting extensive research and development from the ground up on the number of windings, winding method, and pole piece height, the result is a highly balanced pickup that combines powerful low-end with “sparkling” high-end.

4. Acoustic Design-Based Sound Analysis Technology
“Acoustic Design” is a design process that utilizes Yamaha’s proprietary acoustic analysis and 3D modeling. To emphasize the midrange through “enhanced coupled vibration” between the body and neck, and to reproduce tight, clear bass by adjusting the low-frequency vibration, the following modifications have been made:
・“Slit” machining on the body
・Shortening the length between the headstock and neck
・Improved control cavity milling design (milled using an NC router).
