A used 2014 Fender Custom Shop L-Series 1964 Stratocaster Relic Candy Apple Red has arrived!
The L-serial number, which also serves as the model name, was used from mid-1963 through part of 1965. This instrument also features the special "L" serial number.

Based on the 1964 Strat, this is a single-body model with an alder body and maple neck.
The fingerboard is made of dark-colored rosewood.
It features a rounded fretboard with a 7.25" radius and slim vintage-style frets.
The neck profile is a thin C shape that fits comfortably in the hand.

The body color is "Candy Apple Red." While a popular color, this particular finish is quite rare.
Furthermore, the "Relic" finish includes weather checking, scratches, and areas where the finish is worn down to the wood and primer, giving it a look that suggests it has been played extensively over a long period.

The pickups have been replaced from the originals, featuring three gray bobbin type pickups.
The gray bobbin type delivers a sharp, attack-driven sound that is truly captivating.
Controls include a 5-way switch, master volume, front pickup tone, and center pickup & rear pickup tone controls.

Regarding condition, while the overall relic finish makes it difficult to discern, there are almost no visible scratches or dents that appear to be post-production. The playing condition is also problem-free.
The included case shows some discoloration in places.
