USED Martin / D-28 made in 1977 [03]

This is a 1977 D-28 with non-scalloped braces, Grover rotomatic pegs, black pickguard, and blue case. This guitar was made at the height of the Japanese youth's fascination with American items. At that time, music featuring acoustic guitars had matured, with new music popular in Japan and West Coast bands such as the Eagles popular in the United States. The look and sound are a little different from the current model, but it is a nostalgic item for those who know those days, and for those of a later generation, it is an item that takes you back to those days.

The neck angle was adjusted, refretted, fingerboard chips were repaired, bridge saddle slots were repositioned, saddles were replaced, Martin cracks were repaired, and the crack on the top treble string side was repaired (both cracks are fixed) at a partner repair store.
Unusually, the pickguard is original. The bridge has been replaced, but the marks are not noticeable, so there is little discomfort. The bridge pins are original but all are new. There is a minor crack on the surface of the bass string side of the neck heel, but it has not been touched up because there is a neck block on the back of the neck. There are weather checks, dings, scratches, scuffs, paint deterioration and clouding, satin paint flakes on the back of the neck, slight dulling of the plating on metal parts, and slight paint wear on the edge of the sound hole, but no significant unsightly damage. The instrument has some age-related deterioration, modifications, and signs of use, but overall, the appearance of the instrument remains good for its age.
The original hard case (blue case) is included, but the bottom latch on the treble string side of the case is missing, as is the entire plastic case casing. The remaining four latches on the treble string side are fine, and there are no problems with transport or storage in the current condition.
The sound and playability are perfect, with the horsepower of a 70's Martin, but without too much bass, and with a well-balanced sound. This is one that we recommend.
