After Leo Fender left Fender, he incorporated his expertise in electric technology into the instrument itself and released the Stingray as an electric bass for the new era.

This model has an appealing core sound image as if it were a mainstay of the instrument, not to mention its well-known tone with a presence ranging from funky middle to peppy, thumping sound.
If we were to describe it, the word "smoked silver" would suit its character.

We judged it to be made in 1980 from the pot date and neck date.

There is a sticker mark on the back of the head, tarnishing of metal parts due to years of use, scratches and dents on the buckle, and other scuffs and scratches throughout.
Also, the case and the body of the instrument smell of cigarettes.
The neck is in good condition, although there is a little room left to tighten the truss rod. The locking pin may have been changed to a Jim Dunlop type.
