USED GIBSON / L-30 30s [03]

'Precious Pre-War Archtop Gibson.'

This model was produced between 1935 and 1943 with a 14 1/4" wide archtop, flat back body. Sunburst ones like this one seem to have been produced from late 1936. The nut width is 45mm, and the grip of the neck is V-shaped, which is typical design of this period.

There is a crack repair mark from the f-hole to the bottom of the top on the bass side. There are some signs that pickups have been installed in the past. There is a jack hole filled in on the side of the treble string, and the area around the jack hole has been over-lacquered. There is a chip on the left and right side of the headstock, and there are dents and peeling paint on the back of the neck that appear to be capotast marks. The nut has been replaced and the guitar has been refretted, but it is generally in good condition for its age.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been checked for 60 degrees left and right. The frets have been rubbed together and are not dented, and there is approximately 70% height remaining. Playability and sound are perfect.
Vintage tone is very attractive. The small body has a light sound. This is one that will take you to the world of old time American music.
