This is a square shoulder, double X-bracing, 3-piece maple neck J-50 with "J-45/50" stamped on the back of the headstock. It was sold as a J-50 Deluxe at the time, but the inner label with that notation is missing.

There are some heavy picking scratches running from one end of the body to the other, as well as dents, scratches, scuffs, light weather checks, smudges and cloudy paint, touch-up areas on the paint, and rust and tarnish on the metal parts. The binding is cloudy and cracked, indicating a history of restoration, but is not missing. There is a bump at the joint between the headstock and neck wood, and there is also a crack in the paint film at the high string end of the headstock surface.
The neck is in fair condition. The truss rod has been confirmed to operate at 60 degrees left and right, but there is not much room for tightening. The frets are slightly worn, but there are no problems with playing, and the fret height remains around 80%.
Many Gibson acoustic guitars of this period have shallow neck angles, making it difficult to lower the string height, but this guitar has a string height of approximately 2.7mm at the 12th fret on the 6th string side and 1.7mm on the 1st string side, which is about right. As expected, there is no room for saddle height, but playability is perfect.
Comes with a genuine chipboard case with Gibson logo. The instrument is in good condition for its age, with some exterior peeling, frayed stitching, and the latches are a bit poorly engaged, but the instrument is still in good condition for its current use.
It used to be said that double-X bracing products do not sound good, but this perception has been overturned in recent years. This guitar has a moderate sense of compression and the crispness typical of Gibson, and it sounds pleasantly. It can be said that time has nurtured it. We recommend this guitar to those who are looking for a different kind of Gibson.
