Since the introduction of the Santana model in 2001, the SE series has been loved by guitar players all over the world and has established a firm position in the market share of the same price range.
It has now grown to become one of PRS's mainstay lineups.

The SE SILVER SKY MAPLE LEFTY, John Mayer's signature model, is the latest addition to the SE series.

The US-made SILVER SKY, which took John Mayer more than two years to complete with Paul Reed Smith, is the "ideal model" that John Mayer sought, so to speak, and is a fusion of modern ideas and functionality while retaining a vintage taste. By combining vintage tastes with modern ideas and functionality, it became not only a worldwide hit but also a favorite of many professional guitarists, and in 2021 it became the best-selling US-made guitar of the year on Reverb.com, an American online instrument sales site.

The SE SILVER SKY, released in 2022, also became a hot topic on social media and the Internet around the world, with 13,000 units ordered in just one day after it went on sale in the US market.

The SE SILVER SKY MAPLE LEFTY features a poplar body, bolt-on maple neck, maple fingerboard with bird inlays, 22 frets, 25.5" scale, and pickups featuring tight bass, dense midrange, and sparkling highs. The pickups are 635JM "S" that features tight bass, dense midrange, and shimmering treble.
