For the TWA SH9, Tamura used the SD-9 circuit developed in 1981 as the basis for a redesign to meet Scott Henderson's exacting performance standards.
The center frequency of the TWA SH9's tone control has been shifted to focus on the lower midrange.
This ensures that when the tone control is turned up, the lower frequencies, which Scott considers essential for proper guitar sound in the upper register, are not lost.
This thick, rich sound, combined with the TWA SH9's inherently well-compressed sound, allows Scott's trademark horn-like, fluid lead tone to be expressed at a high level.
