USED HOFNER / 500/1 Vintage 63 [03]

The Vintage63, a 1963 reissue model from Hofner—Germany's legendary brand positioned at the pinnacle of violin basses—has arrived used!

Founded in Germany in 1887 by Karl Hofner, Hofner is a legendary brand renowned especially for its violin bass production. It's also famously known as the bass brand Paul McCartney, The Beatles' bassist, used even before his debut. And it's still fresh in our memory that the company made major headlines in 2024 when it filed for bankruptcy.

This newly arrived piece is from the 2003 Vintage 63 series. While the V63 series is well-known, this particular model belongs to a series produced around the year 2000.
It features a spruce top, maple sides, back, and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. Its warm, somehow familiar sound is truly one-of-a-kind.

Signs of use are evident, including paint chipping from buckle marks, discoloration and rust on parts, and scattered scratches and dents throughout. Additionally, the Treble switch was damaged and has been repaired.
Nevertheless, the neck is nearly straight, and the truss rod functions perfectly. Considering its age, it's in excellent condition.
