It sounds great! A 2002 Southern Jumbo!
This is a used Southern Jumbo, which is positioned as the top-of-the-line model above the J-45. Since there was a crack in the bridge when it arrived, we had a new bridge custom-made and installed.There are traces of a magnetic pickup having been installed in the soundhole, and a dummy end-pin jack remains in place. Dents and scratches are scattered throughout the body, some of which are quite noticeable. In addition to weather checking, there is chipping, peeling, and clouding of the finish; cracks in the finish around the headstock brand logo and crown inlays are visible, and the plating on the tuning pegs has dulled.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been tested to move 60 degrees in both directions. The frets have been dressed and show no dents, with approximately 80% of their original height remaining. The string action is relatively low, and both playability and sound are excellent.
The tone has matured beautifully, as expected from a well-played instrument. Although there is some wear, the natural aging process has given it a sense of character and dignity. A highly practical and recommended instrument.
