Atelier Z presents the M265, the quintessential 5-string bass, now available used!

Atelier Z began its journey as a domestic brand in 1989. Since then, it has been beloved by many artists, primarily for its active basses that blend vintage and modern styles. Its popularity has surged recently, gaining traction especially among younger players and establishing itself as a new staple brand.

This newly arrived model is the M#265. Alongside the 4-string M#245, it stands as one of Atelier Z's signature creations. The color appears to be a custom order in Transparent White. The faintly visible wood grain adds a nice touch.
It features Atelier Z's signature materials: a 2-piece ash body, maple neck, and maple fingerboard. The 70s-inspired style, including block inlays, binding, and the original BADASS-type bridge, is another area where Atelier Z truly excels. The controls consist of Master Volume, Pickup Selector, Treble Boost, and Bass Boost. Additionally, the Bass knob features a push/pull switch to toggle between active and passive modes.
The sound is quintessentially Atelier Z: trebly and well-suited to a punchy, punchy sound. The solid mids that support that brilliance, the warm lows that envelop you – there's nothing to complain about anywhere. It handles all genres, from a sound that cuts through a band ensemble to a modern sound that steps forward and asserts itself. The Low B string's resonance is outstanding.

There are signs of use: scratches across the body, scattered dents on the body and headstock, some discoloration on parts, and paint chips from an impact dent near the joint plate.
However, the neck is currently problem-free. The truss rod is a bit stiff but functions normally. It's highly responsive, so you likely won't need to adjust it drastically at once. Fret wear is subjective, but about 70% of the frets remain, ensuring trouble-free use for the foreseeable future.
