The 1974 model from the New American Vintage series—the highest-rated series in the long-running American Vintage line—is now available used!

The undisputed originator of the electric bass, "Fender".
This arrival is from Fender's American Vintage series, launched in 1982. Within that series, this particular model underwent a full redesign after 30 years of production starting in 1982. Manufactured beginning in 2012 and released in 2013, it's the so-called "New American Vintage" series. It's a rare model, produced for only about five years before transitioning to the American Original series in 2018.

Marked "DEC 04 2012" on the neck and "OCT 29 2012" on the body, this instrument appears to be from 2013, the year the series began distribution. Considering its age, it could even be from the initial production run.
The materials include a relatively light ash body weighing 4.08kg, a moderately thick U-shaped maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The finish is entirely polyurethane. The deep black rosewood fingerboard features block inlays and binding, contributing to a more luxurious finish.The finger rest is genuine. It seems unusual for a Fender regular line model to feature a finger rest in this position.
It's equipped with American Vintage '74 Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups. The sound combines a crisp, punchy attack with a mellow midrange, adding further charm to the quintessential Fender twang.

The pickguard shows some scuffs, minor paint damage near the rear pickup, buckle marks, a small dent on the lower back, and some part discoloration. Overall, however, it shows minimal wear. The neck is currently straight, with almost no signs of truss rod adjustment, and functions well. It comes with nearly all original accessories and is in excellent condition.
