A custom-order Provision! A one-of-a-kind PRB-5 has just arrived as a used item!

Provision Guitar was founded in 1988 in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, at the westernmost tip of Honshu. Their meticulously handcrafted instruments, created by a small team of skilled artisans, are loved in a wide variety of settings across all genres. It is a highly regarded brand with a proven track record, earning praise from both professionals and amateurs alike.

The PRB-5 we’ve just received appears to be a custom-order model. Finished entirely in a chic brown, it exudes a sense of luxury.
This guitar does not come with a spec sheet or similar documentation. Upon inquiring with the manufacturer, we were informed that it likely features a body made of 2-piece ash with a 2-piece wenge top, a 3-piece wenge neck, and a wenge fingerboard—a model that makes generous use of wenge wood.
It is equipped with Provision’s original pickups. The preamp features a Bartolini NTMB. While the Bartolini NTMB is a flagship preamp on par with the XTCT, it is characterized by a fuller tone and a wider range of adjustability compared to the XTCT. Rather than imposing a specific character, the EQ provides a natural sound, making this a model where you can enjoy the process of finding your ideal settings.

The sound is rich and wide. True to Provision’s quality, it is not only high-grade but also delivers a solid core across every frequency band. No matter how extreme the settings, unless something extraordinary happens, the sound will never suffer from a lack of clarity.

There are signs of wear throughout, including small dents and scratches scattered across the body, as well as some paint peeling near the body end. Additionally, there are extensive repair marks from a previous fingerboard crack, but these do not affect playability at this time.
The neck is currently in good condition. The truss rod functions properly when both tightened and loosened.
