A used Ibanez SR500—a long-selling, affordable model—has just arrived!

Ibanez is manufactured and operated by Hoshino Gakki. The company began manufacturing guitars way back in 1957 and is one of Japan’s leading, long-established brands. It has been particularly popular among metal and rock musicians.

The model we’ve just received is the SR500. It’s a value-for-money model that was sold for 13 years, from 2005.
It features a mahogany body, a wenge and bubinga neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. With its slim neck shape and 24 frets, its appearance is an iconic design that has become synonymous with the model.
It is equipped with a Bartolini pickup and preamp. With a 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) and a mid-frequency switch, it offers outstanding versatility.

The sound is crisp and bright, true to Ibanez’s signature style. While models like this often tend to have a slightly high center of gravity, this instrument achieves ample low-end response thanks to its active circuitry. You’ll find it cuts through the mix with ease, even in a full band ensemble. Its lightweight design, weighing just 3.19 kg, is another appealing feature.

There are scattered scratches across the body, and the parts show some dullness, indicating signs of use throughout.
The neck is currently in good condition, and the truss rod functions properly.
