Released in 1977, this is a landmark model—BOSS’s first-ever compact effects pedal series and the world’s first overdrive pedal. It was a pedal beloved by both professionals and amateurs alike until production ended in the 1980s.

OVER DRIVE
The OD-1 Overdrive is an effects pedal that preserves the guitar’s natural tone while delivering a mild, natural distortion (overdrive) reminiscent of a tube amp cranked to the max. Unlike aggressive distortion, it fully conveys the subtle nuances of picking and fingering techniques without disrupting the balance of the ensemble. It is widely cherished as the original overdrive pedal worldwide.
