We’ve received a used YAMAHA LA-27.

This is one of the models from Yamaha’s “LA” series released in the 1980s. This particular instrument is a 1983 LA-27.

Key specifications include a solid spruce top, solid palisander sides and back, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge.

It features the rich resonance unique to an all-solid body, along with deep bass tones and clear treble provided by the rosewood sides and back, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of playing styles, from strumming to fingerstyle.

As for its condition, there are numerous scratches and dents throughout the body, and the metal parts show signs of wear appropriate for its age, such as peeling plating.
There is slight warping visible on the top.

The neck is slightly reverse-bow, and there is some neck lift.
The string action at the 12th fret is approximately 2.6 mm on the 6th string and approximately 2.0 mm on the 1st string.

The truss rod has been tested and confirmed to move up to 60 degrees in both directions, but the remaining adjustment range is less than half a turn, so there is limited room for future adjustments.

The frets have been dressed at our repair center, and approximately 50% of their original material remains. The instrument is currently playable.

There was previously some peeling of the bracing, but this has been repaired with adhesive at our repair center. We have also replaced the saddle.

The aftermarket pickups installed on this instrument produce noise when the middle control is engaged.

The original hard case is included. The case has numerous stickers on it.
