A lap steel guitar equipped with a Multi-Bender that lets you play like a pedal steel!
This is a 6-string lap steel from the German company Duesenberg. Equipped with the company’s String Bending Device—the Multi-Bender—it enables pedal steel-style phrasing and chord playing despite being a lap steel.
The body is made of Corina, giving it a relatively substantial weight for a single-neck steel guitar. The taut string tension characteristic of the 650mm scale, combined with the character of the company’s original pickup, ensures it keeps up even with overdriven playing.The speed pot on the tone control makes it easy to achieve wah-like tone manipulation. It’s also equipped with a slide-type capo called the “Easy Shift Capo,” which allows for playing that makes full use of open strings without changing the tuning. It’s a model designed to meet the needs of steel guitarists from the alternative rock generation. This steel guitar can be used across a wide range of genres, including rock, roots music, and ambient.
The factory string gauges are .056, .046, .036, .026W, .018, and .016 (from the 6th string), tuned to Open D (DADF#AD). It is set up so that the Multi-Bender allows you to bend the 3rd string up a half-step (F# to G) and the 2nd string up a whole step (A to B).The multi-bender can also be moved to other strings or additional strings can be added. Down-bending is also possible using the included spring.
There are some minor dents, scratches, scuffs, a slight haze on the finish, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but there is no noticeable damage. The electronics, multi-bender, and capo all function properly, so you can use this guitar with confidence. This is a recommended model from our steel guitar sales staff.
Unfortunately, we do not carry dedicated strings for this model, so the strings are the ones that came with the instrument. We ask for your understanding regarding any deterioration of the strings.
