A used GIBSON J-35 has just arrived.

The “J-35” is an indispensable part of the Gibson round-shoulder model lineage, which originated in the 1930s and led to the later J-45. This particular instrument is a 2015 model that faithfully reproduces its classic design and sound while offering modern playability.

Key specifications include a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany sides and back, a mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, a scale length of approximately 628 mm (24.75 inches), and a nut width of approximately 43.8 mm.

Its appeal lies in the dry attack and warm midrange unique to an all-solid Sitka spruce and mahogany body. With powerful chord strums, you’ll enjoy the rich, crisp sound characteristic of Gibson, while arpeggios and fingerpicking produce a natural, resonant tone.

As for its condition, there are some dents, scratches, and tarnish on the metal parts, and it shows signs of aging and wear commensurate with its age.

There is a slight bulge on the top beneath the bridge.

The neck showed a tendency to be high upon arrival, but we have adjusted it in-store. It is currently slightly bowing forward within the acceptable range, with string action at the 12th fret measuring approximately 2.5 mm on the 6th string and 2.0 mm on the 1st string.

The truss rod has been tested for movement up to 60 degrees in both directions, and there are currently no issues with its adjustment function.

We have performed a fret leveling adjustment in-house. There are no significant irregularities, the frets maintain a playable height, and the remaining material is approximately 70 percent.

There are no issues with the electronics.

We have performed saddle adjustments at our shop.

The original hard case is included.
