A 2014 Memphis Historic Series 1964 ES-345TDC VOS Sixties Cherry VOS has arrived!
This Historic Series guitar was crafted at the Memphis factory, which closed in 2018 to much regret. This particular instrument is the top-of-the-line ES-345TDC model, and it marks the 50th anniversary of the model’s debut in 1964.

The 2014 model, which underwent significant refinements—such as the use of traditional hide glue for the neck joint and a tubeless truss rod—continues to be highly regarded today.

The instrument features a three-ply laminated body of maple, poplar, and maple, paired with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. The neck shape is the “1964 Slim Taper,” which offers a moderately slim profile.
It is equipped with MHS pickups designed specifically for hollow-body guitars. These pickups replicate the original vintage PAF, achieving an authentic, airy resonance—without potting—and a sharp response to picking. By using unmatched windings, they reproduce the PAF’s distinctive “edge” and “harmonics” with excellent clarity.

Overall, there are signs of wear, including fine scratches, dents, playing marks, and tarnish or rust on the hardware.
There are age-related cracks along the binding, around the escutcheon screw holes, and at the anchor points of the bridge and tailpiece.
Additionally, there is a faint stain resembling a liquid drip between the two pickups.

The neck is in good condition, and there is still plenty of life left in the frets.
While it shows moderate signs of use, this is still a guitar that can be enjoyed for many years to come!
