A used 2026 Historic Collection 1961 Les Paul SG Standard Reissue with a '64 Neck has arrived!
This is a reissue model of the first-year SG—known as the “Les Paul SG”—which was released in 1961 as the successor to the Les Paul. Around 1963, the name was changed to “SG (Solid Guitar)” for contractual reasons.

It features a one-piece solid mahogany neck and body, along with a rosewood fingerboard. It utilizes the all-hide glue construction—a standard since 2013—combined with a long tenon joint.

Unlike the traditional “1960 Slim Taper,” this dealer-order model features the “Authentic ’64 Medium C-Shape” neck profile, which is moderately thick and rounded—a specification unique to this model.

It is equipped with “Custombucker Alnico III (Unpotted)” pickups; by leaving them unpotted, the guitar reproduces an authentic, natural acoustic resonance similar to the original PAF, along with a crisp, edgy tone with bite.

There are minor scratches and playwear scattered throughout the body, but due to the VOS finish, they are not particularly noticeable.
The neck is in good condition, and the frets have ample height.

The combination of the vibrant Cherry Red color and the VOS finish results in a beautiful appearance. It was manufactured relatively recently and is still in great condition for continued use!
