A used 2025 Murphy Lab 1956 Les Paul Gold Top Ultra Light Aged has arrived!
Led by Master Artisan Tom Murphy, “Murphy Lab” has created this model featuring an “Ultra Light Aged” finish that recreates the look of a vintage guitar that has been carefully stored in its case.

It faithfully reproduces specifications that fans will love, including the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece—first introduced in 1956—as well as the lower logo design used from the early to mid-1950s.

The wood configuration features a two-piece plain maple top, a one-piece lightweight solid mahogany back, a solid mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard.
It is equipped with two Custom Soapbar P-90 pickups. Although they are single-coil pickups, they offer a vintage sound that cannot be found in standard P-90s—a rich midrange coexisting with clear, crisp highs.

An ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer developed by Murphy Lab is used to reproduce authentic weather checking. Although not visible at present, you can expect to enjoy the patina—a characteristic aging effect of Goldtops—in the future.

Due to the aged finish, the details of any scratches added later are unclear, but the guitar is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use. The neck is in perfect condition, and there is plenty of fret life remaining.

The lustrous finish of the fingerboard, the texture of the ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer, and the realistic aging all combine to create a high-quality instrument that exudes a sense of luxury!
