USED Fender USA / American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass, 2-Knob, Black, 1998 [03]

We have received a used 1998 Fender American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass in Black.

This model features the stacked knob configuration, which was used only during the brief period from 1960—immediately after the Jazz Bass was introduced—through early 1962. This instrument revives that historic specification for today.

It features a 2-Volume, 2-Tone configuration that allows for independent control of volume and tone for each pickup, enabling a different sound-shaping experience compared to later-model Jazz Basses. This instrument is highly recommended not only for enthusiasts seeking vintage specifications but also for players who want to enjoy a wide range of tones despite it being a passive bass.

It features an alder body, a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. In addition to traditional specifications that follow the vintage style, the body and neck are finished with gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing you to enjoy the natural patina that develops over time. This model combines a black finish with a 4-ply brown shell pickguard.

The truss rod has approximately half a turn of adjustment remaining. The exterior shows signs of wear and tear from age and use. There are scattered dents, scratches, and paint chips on the headstock, the back of the neck, and various parts of the body; additionally, there is a paint chip caused by a dent measuring approximately 1.5 cm on the back of the body. Furthermore, paint wear is visible near the top of the rear pickup, and the wood is beginning to show through slightly. There is a sticker mark approximately 7 cm long visible between the control knobs and the bridge. Additionally, there is paint chipping near the lower-left corner of the neck plate, a paint crack near the neck pocket, discoloration on the lower part of the body, and some dulling of the parts. None of these issues affect playability.

The pickup fence and bridge cover are included as accessories, but the mounting screws are missing.
