1960s Teisco K-2L 4Color Sunburst is now in stock.

AIOI SOUNDWAVE LABORATORY, founded in 1946, established a subsidiary company, TESCO STRING INSTRUMENTS, in 1961, and changed the company name to TESCO CORPORATION in 1964, developing and selling their own products and making a great contribution to the electric guitar boom in Japan.
The brand is well supported by Bizarro guitar users all over the world, and even today, Spectrum and other brands are traded at high prices.

The K-2L was introduced in the late 1960s.
This model has two pickups and a vibrato tailpiece, and features a sharply pointed cutaway body shape. The "K-3L" with three pickups and the "K-4L" with four pickups and expanded functions were also released.

In addition to the two Tesco original pickups, controls include 2Vol/1Tone, an ON/FF switch for each pickup, and a Rythm/Lead switch. The assembly can be determined to be original as the solder is virgin, but the exact age cannot be determined as there is no date on Japanese-made models from this period.

The stripe-less aluminum pickguard and reddish color suggest that this is a later model.

The frets are original and low and thin, but there is about 70% remaining. The truss rod has no room to tighten, but it is playable without clogging.
The truss rod is not tightened enough, but it can be played without clogging. There are some scratches, dents, peeling paint, and weather checks due to use.
