USED Gibson / 1969 EB-1 [04]

1969 EB-1 is now in stock.

The first electric bass "Electric Bass/EB-1" was released by Gibson in 1953, two years after the introduction of the Precision Bass.
The EB-1 was produced until 1958, but unfortunately production was discontinued, and in 1970, this model was announced as a reissue.

Like the original, it has a mahogany body, mahogany neck (3-piece mahogany on this model), and rosewood fingerboard.
The scale is a short 30.5" and the frets are 20F.
It is also equipped with rare parts such as Schaller pegs with G engraving and "Electric Bass EB-1" engraved parts.

While the 50's pickups were single coils and painted brown in appearance, this model is equipped with original humbuckers and chrome covers.
The bass, which is quite punchy, is different from other electric basses and offers a unique sound.

The bridge is also a nice feature: while the '50s model had a bar bridge type, the reissue model has a type that allows octave adjustment for each string, and it comes with a bridge cover that was not included on the original.

The serial number and pot date of this guitar indicate that it was made in 1969, but Gibson's shipping history only shows shipments from 1970 to 1973 (473 total), and since the number of shipments in 1970 was quite large, it seems that production started in 1969 and the guitars were shipped from the following year.

There are some signs of use on the exterior, but there are no problems in use.

The nut and frets are original.
The frets are not the original tall type, but they are still relatively high and in good playing condition.

Original hard case and stand are included.
