1967年製 Coronado XIIが入荷いたしました。
1966年から1970年にかけて製作された、ホロウ・ボディのシンライン・エレクトリック・モデルである「Coronado」シリーズ。
テレキャスター・シンラインなどと同じく、設計はリッケンバッカーに在籍し、フェンダーに移ってきた「ロジャー・ロスマイズル」氏が担当しています。
今回入荷した個体は、ホッケースティック・ヘッドが特徴となる12弦仕様のCoronado XII。
赤みの強いサンバースト・フィニッシュが美しい一本です。
ネックはバウンド&ブロック・ポジションマーク仕様。
ピックアップはDeArmond製のオリジナル・シングルコイルを搭載。
ブリッジはベース・プレートがボディ・トップのアーチに合わせて加工されており、サドルは主弦と復弦それぞれがオクターブ調整が出来るようになっているなど、かなり手の込んだ仕様となっております。
外観はヴィンテージらしい味の出たルックスで、ボディ・エンドにスタンド焼けがございますが、年式を考慮するとクリーンな個体です。
スイッチ・ノブにヒビが見受けられますが、現状使用に問題はございません。
当時は人気が出なかったのか、短命に終わってしまったモデルではございますが、ルックスもクールでビザール的な魅力がある一本。
フレットの高さも残っており、プレイ・コンディションも良好です。

A 1967 Coronado XII has arrived.
The "Coronado" series consists of hollow-body Thinline electric models manufactured between 1966 and 1970.
Like the Telecaster Thinline and other models, the design was handled by Roger Rossmire, who worked at Rickenbacker before moving to Fender.
The model we’ve just received is a 12-string Coronado XII, featuring the distinctive hockey-stick headstock.
It is a beautiful instrument with a rich reddish sunburst finish.
The neck features bound and block position markers.
It is equipped with original DeArmond single-coil pickups.
The bridge features a base plate that has been machined to match the arch of the body top, and the saddles allow for separate octave adjustment of the treble and bass strings, making for a highly intricate design.
The exterior has a vintage-inspired look, and while there is some stand burn on the body end, it is in clean condition considering its age.
There are some cracks visible on the switch knobs, but they do not affect current use.
Although this model was short-lived—perhaps because it didn’t gain popularity at the time—it’s a cool-looking instrument with a certain bizarre charm.
The frets still have good height, and the playing condition is excellent.
