USED FENDER CUSTOM SHOP / KR "Sonny" Telecaster Sunburst -1996- [04]

We have received a "KR 'Sonny' Telecaster Sunburst" that was originally built to fulfill a dealer order.

Commissioned by a distributor, this guitar was crafted by the Custom Shop in the style of the 1967 Telecaster—commonly known as "Sonny"—favored by Keith Richards.

It features an alder body with a sunburst finish and a one-piece maple neck.
The neck is crafted from vividly flamed maple, offering a slim profile with a 9.5" radius fingerboard.

Key features include the CBS logo on the headstock, a black pickguard, a humbucker pickup (Seymour Duncan / SH-1n 59 Model) mounted on the escutcheon on the neck side, and brass bridge hardware.

Only the G-string tuner has been replaced with a modern Kluson tuner.
Additionally, the strap pins have been replaced, and the locking mechanism that attaches to the strap is missing.

While weather checking and scratches are visible here and there due to age and use, this is a cool-looking instrument with a lot of character.

The neck is in good condition, and there is plenty of play in the truss rod.
While there are string marks on the frets, they have about 70% of their original height remaining, and there is no muting or buzzing, so it is ready to play.

Unfortunately, the certificate of authenticity is missing, but we have verified on the dealer’s website that this is an officially imported item; the date is “02-05-1996” and the model name is “CUSTOM INSTRUMENT.”

It comes with the original tweed case.
