Fender Custom Shop 1950 Telecaster MOD 2-Tone Sunburst -1997-

Built during the golden age of the Fender Custom Shop in the 1990s—which was established in 1987—this guitar continues to be highly regarded today due to its use of an abundance of premium stock materials.

Based on the 1950 Broadcaster—the world’s first mass-produced electric guitar—this model features an ash body and a neck made of maple with dense flame figures, and incorporates a detachable 4-point mounting system (Custom Shop F USA plate).
The headstock features a “Fender ‘TELECASTER’” decal and is equipped with Kluson 6-shaft tuners and round string guides.

The neck features a slightly thinner C-shape profile, and the frets are of the slightly narrower, narrow-tall type.
The two-tone sunburst body is equipped with “50s Single Coil Pickups” and features standard controls: Master Volume, Master Tone, and a 3-way selector switch.

Normally, the serial number is stamped on the bridge plate, but on this instrument, it has been replaced with a brass plate without side markings, so the serial number is unknown.
The serial number on the certificate of authenticity is “30773,” and the neck stamp reads “2 5 1997”; the neck and body match without issue.

There are numerous scratches, dents, scuffs, and areas of peeling paint resulting from general wear and tear. Approximately 60% of the frets remain, and we have confirmed that the truss rod turns 60 degrees in both directions; the guitar is in good playing condition.
