USED RICKENBACKER / Model 4003 Mapleglo -2004- [04]

The Rickenbacker Model 4003 Mapleglo has arrived.

The “4003” is a classic model from Rickenbacker, one of America’s most iconic and long-established brands. With its unique body shape, instantly recognizable iconic design, and distinctive sound, this model has continued to captivate bassists around the world for many years.

This particular instrument is a 2004 Mapleglo model. It combines a natural look that highlights the beautiful grain of the maple wood with triangle inlays, binding, and chrome hardware, resulting in a bass that exudes both elegance and presence.

The 4003’s rich sustain and clear tonal image, achieved through its maple-based through-neck construction, are among its greatest attractions. In addition to tight, focused bass, it features well-defined mid-to-high frequencies and a distinctive treble character, ensuring it stands out even within an ensemble. It is well-suited not only for rock and pop but also for styles like progressive rock, where the presence of the bassline itself is paramount.

With two pickups and independent volume and tone controls, it offers a wide range of sounds—from those that make the most of its deep, rich bass to those that emphasize a crisp, snappy attack. Furthermore, it features both mono and stereo outputs, allowing for flexible setup options tailored to your playing style and gear setup.

More than just a classic model, the 4003 embodies Rickenbacker’s signature tone and aesthetic. We highly recommend this instrument to anyone seeking an electric bass that combines vintage-like presence with practicality—a instrument you’ll enjoy for years to come.
