The rear pickup continues to use DiMarzio's "Will Power" Billy Sheen signature pickups as on previous models. On the other hand, the woofer pickup, which is the most distinctive feature of Billy's model, is equipped with an original pickup made by DiMarzio, designed by Yamaha and co-developed with Billy.
This new pickup was developed based on Billy's advice, and its basic structure was reviewed and improved upon the original Yamaha woofer pickup installed on the BB714BS. The new pickup has a humbucker-type structure with a blade-type polepiece, and even the coil wire diameter and coating material were carefully selected to achieve a super bass sound with more power than ever before. At the same time, the joint development with Billy, along with the new neck joint method described below, was successful, and the pickup itself was made thinner.

The "spline joint method" is used to transfer string vibration energy accurately to the entire body with excellent vibration characteristics like a one-piece structure.
Alder wood, which is characterized by its well-balanced warm midrange, is used for the body material as before, and the spline joint system used in the new BB2000 and 1000 is adopted. The splines connecting the center where the strings pass through and the two sides of the splines allow the strings' vibration energy to be accurately transmitted throughout the body with excellent vibration characteristics similar to a one-piece structure, even though it is a three-piece structure designed to withstand environmental changes.
In addition, the "A.R.E." wood treatment technology, coupled with the spline joint structure and the I.R.A. treatment effect described below, has resulted in a body with the best sound recognized by Billy.

A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)" wood modification technology
A.R.E. is Yamaha's proprietary wood modification technology that changes the microscopic properties of wood to a state similar to that of vintage guitars that have been used for many years by precisely controlling temperature, humidity, and air pressure. This treatment provides the ATTITUDE LIMITED3 with an excellent attack and sustain. (The graph shows that the sustain of the low frequency range is increased, the rise of the mid and high frequency range is also increased, and after the rise of the sound, the annoying high frequency component is attenuated in a shorter period of time). Furthermore, no chemicals are used in the process, and the environmental impact is low. I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) Processing
I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) is a technology that reduces the stress between the paint and adhesive material and the wood and parts by applying vibration at the optimum frequency unique to each instrument in a tuned state, thereby making the instrument "easy to play" from a new state.

Neck Joint
Conventional models are secured with four wood screws from the back of the body and two screws of different lengths inside the body. Billy is a player who frequently uses "neck bends" to control the pitch by warping the neck itself, and the theme for the development of the new model was to further improve the strength of the joints.
The new neck joint with the new 45-degree diagonal screw is not only stronger vertically, but also horizontally, which improves the transmission of vibrations between the neck and the body, resulting in a tighter sound. The result is a tighter sound.
