ARTIST" was born in 1991 as a later model of the Signature series. The model in stock is "Artist II," the second model in the Artist series.
Only 500 pieces were produced during the production period from 1993 to 1995, and there are several different specifications of this model.
The ARTIST II in stock this time is one of the few semi-hollow models.
It is produced in a chamber style with no f-holes, and the beautiful grain of the wood, which is one of the most attractive features of the company, is maximally utilized in its looks.
The top of the body is made of the finest flame maple, and the back and neck are made of mahogany. Rosewood is used for the fingerboard and head top.
The ARTIST II also features maple purfling on the head top, truss rod, and fingerboard, making it the first model in the company's history to be built to this specification.
The pickups on this model are "DRAGON" pickups, while most of the other models have "ARTIST" pickups.
The "DRAGON" pickups are not the "DRAGON II" pickups often seen on PRS models, but the DRAGON pickups, the predecessor model, are rare and rarely seen on the market today.
The front pickup has "22.AS.WT" written inside the cavity, which stands for 22-fret, artist, wide-thin.
The rear pickup is marked "24.188", "INDIGO ART,SER,II", and 22FSWT, which stands for 24188, 22 frets, semi-hollow, and wide thin, the same as the serial number on the back of the head.
The neck is painted black from the 3rd fret to the top, and it is thought that the neck was probably repaired due to a broken neck. The original color remains under the pegs. The serial number has most likely been rewritten.
There are scratches, dents, and other signs of use, but it has been checked and adjusted as a whole by a professional repair person after arrival, and is in good playing condition.
