The Historic Collection is a series of reissues of famous historical instruments, produced by the Gibson Custom Shop, and is the pinnacle of the lineup.
The model we have just received was produced based on the 1958 Explorer. The characteristic shape of the body, which has been partially cut off, has been designed to the specifications of "that guy" who is familiar to fans.

The famous EXPLORER was born in 1958. The first model was made of the rare Corinna wood, and the price is now over several million dollars because of the small number of originals produced.
This special one was made in 2018, the 60th anniversary year of the EXPLORER's birth.

The body and neck are made of high-quality mahogany. Rosewood was chosen for the fingerboard.
The neck shape is a fat neck typical of the 50s.

The finish is not VOS or Aged, but "Heavy Aged". The body and neck are made to look as if they have been used and abused for many years.

Both front and rear pickups have been changed to Seymour Duncan SH-1 (59). The playing condition is very good and can be used immediately.

The cherry color is one of the few produced and is very valuable. This is a special guitar commemorating the 60th anniversary of the historical masterpiece.
