The "0-16NY" was released in 1961 and adopted the famous "0" shape of the New Yorker style, which is small but has a rich sound.
This model, which became known as the "New Yorker style" when Martin began using a 12-fret joint while he was making instruments in New York, has a 12-fret joint, a slotted head, a 0 shape, and a spruce top. This model has a 12-fret joint, slotted head, 0 shape, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and rosewood fingerboard and bridge.
The top brace is small to maximize the vibration of the top of the body, which tends to be small and choppy, so that the sound is rich and enjoyable even when played with a fingernail.

This model was made in 1972 and is in good condition for its age. The top of the body has some bulging and top drop, but the bracing has been re-glued and can be used without any problems.
On the back of the body, a patch has been applied to the bottom of the bridge plate to correct a crack in the top. The bridge and saddle have been replaced, the bridge pins have been replaced, the neck has been reset, the fingerboard has been corrected, the bridge has been re-glued, the frets have been replaced, and the pegs have been replaced, so the overall condition and playability of the instrument has been well maintained.

Although in player's condition, this is a Martin acoustic with excellent New Yorker style sound quality and playability, and is highly recommended for players.
